Myth : Soaps or shampoos which produce more lather have better cleansing action
Fact – Cleansing action is related only to detergent property. Lather or foam production is dependent on addition of foam boosters to soaps and shampoos. Lather is useful as it functions to spread the detergent but it does not participate in cleaning. So the amount of lather production is not proportional to the cleansing activity.
Myth: Regular oiling prevents hair fall, dandruff and greying of hair.
Fact- Hairfall can be because of many factors other than oil application. Oil acts as a good pre wash conditioner and protects the cuticles to make hair smooth and shiny. However, too much oil can have adverse effects. The application of hair oil for 30–60 min is sufficient. Coconut oil is absorbed in the cuticle layer and may be used as a conditioning agent. Excessive oiliness increases dandruff. Greying of hair may not be prevented by oiling
